Me: yelling at someone for illegally parking their motorcycle in the access aisle for disabled parking

Complete stranger: comes up to me, gets right in my face and starts yelling at me for being mean to the motorcyclist

If you see a member of a minority class fighting a violation of their civil rights and you decide to throw yourself, uninvited, into the disagreement on the side of the person violating their civil rights, you are officially one of life’s villains and I hope you fall off a cliff.

I told my mom about this post and she asked if it was a disabled motorcyclist. I didn’t know how to respond to that.

If a motorcyclist is disabled and wants to use disabled parking, they need to obtain a disabled parking placard.

Even if you have a disabled parking placard you cannot park in the access aisle.

The motorcyclist did not have a disabled parking placard. He was parked in the access aisle. He was an asshole.

The “but what if they were disabled” response abled people always pull out of their ass every time a disabled person mentions someone illegally using or obstructing disabled parking is ableist and it is whataboutism. Tell your mother to shove it.

But hey props to your mom for throwing in on the ableist side of the argument when she’s not even here. It takes real talent.
