I know a lot of y’all just like love to cheer for his downfall or whatever but I’d like to remind everyone that he actually does have Aspergers and that’s why his jokes didn’t “land”. You can hate on his ethics all you want to but it’s bold af for someone to host SNL especially when they have a syndrome that limits their ability to do that and invites ridicule.

I assure you his mental divergence had nothing to do with his jokes missing their mark.  One skit was called Gen Z Hospital and was loaded on nothing but horribly misused AAVE.  That was it.  There was no punchline outside of using AAVE improperly.  That has nothing to do with him being on the autism spectrum and everything to do with him being an out of touch billionaire boomer trying to belittle the generation that most often sees through his bullshit. 

He’s also, despite his claim in his monologue, not the only SNL host to be neurodivergent.  Dan Akroyd, former cast member and later host, is also on the autism spectrum and has spoken often about it.  

He also still owns an emerald mine in Africa and is a fucking trash person who tries to be repeatable despite being a fucking dickbag. I know plenty of neurodivergent people who are genuinely funny as fuck and have great senses of humor. Elongated Muskrat just sucks.

I’m nuerodivergent and funny as hell! It’s not the ASD he’s just unfunny.

He’s a selfish prick who frontloaded his performance with a discussion of his ASD that belittled the accomplishments of other people with ASD. (Dan Akroyd, as mentioned, is on the spectrum and is actually funny.) Fuck that guy, he deserves humiliation, I hope his head deflates and he can grow up before he does anymore damage to the world.

Friendly reminder for the person who wants to praise Musk for hosting SNL and being ND:

Neurodivergence is never an excuse for shitty behavior.

Being ND does not make you incapable of understanding your actions and the impact they have on the world.

Elon Musk is a bad person.

Being ND does not excuse, eliminate, or alter this fact.

We don’t think he should be hunted for sport because he’s ND. We think he should be hunted for sport because he is a genuinely terrible person who is actively doing everything he can to exploit his workers and ruin the planet.

Oh, and? Claiming that we should be kinder to this jackass because he’s ND smacks of the kind of ableist, paternalistic nonsense people have been saying about ND people and specifically ASD for decades.

Also, speaking as someone with ASD?

I’m literally working on a career that depends on being fucking funny. And so far it’s been going well. Got derailed because of Covid, but I’m picking back up this year.

I assure you, humor and neurodivergency are not mutually exclusive categories. In fact sometimes they even compliment each other.
