Mai’s duel against Marik really was highway fucking robbery. She was wrecking him. It took her one turn to destroy the infinite combo that almost took out Yugi and she successfully stole and summoned the god card and then she just loses for bullshit magic reasons. Like I know they needed her to lose for plot reasons but by all rights that duel was hers.
